About

From discussions between republican socialist and anarchist political activists, it has been decided to organise and form Citizens Defence Committees (CDC’s) in areas of Dublin. The task of these committees will be to organise and co-ordinate practical initiatives to: 

• Develop and create a culture of political participation and activism amongst those who have hitherto been alienated from political activism and agitation, and to mobilise them in defence, where necessary, against further attacks from the system.
• Organise inter-community resource pooling and autonomy to defend those most afflicted by the capitalist recessionary onslaught, and to show and implement socialist alternatives to market driven social activity.
• Create a visible and relevant presence of revolutionary politics and activism amongst working class communities and areas.
